One hundred foundational Shaolin movements. The complete jibengong (基本功) system, taught by Shifu Shi Yan Jin, 34th Generation Shaolin Disciple.

Shifu Shi Yan Jin entered the Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng at the age of ten. The years that followed were a full immersion in the tradition: training from before dawn, living the discipline of a temple disciple, and studying directly under respected Shaolin masters, among them Shifu Shi Guo Song, one of the Shaolin Temple's renowned warrior monks and a chief coach of its martial arts monk group. That decade inside the temple walls shaped everything Shi Yan Jin teaches today.

Now in his forties, with more than thirty years of practice and over two decades teaching students around the world, he has gathered the essential foundation of his training into a single course. These one hundred movements are the same preparation a disciple receives before learning forms: the conditioning, flexibility and structure that every Shaolin technique is built upon. It is the work that quietly separates a true practitioner from a performer.

The course

One hundred individual movement lessons, ordered exactly as they are taught within the Shaolin tradition. Each is filmed in studio-quality HD with full English subtitles, and each carries the corrections a master gives in person: the common mistakes, and how to resolve them before they settle into habit. Whether you are beginning Shaolin or returning to rebuild your basics, you are learning from the source.

Six categories of training

  • Joint Activation (关节活动). Nine movements. The body opened in the correct order, the way Shaolin athletes train without injury across decades.
  • Conditioning and Explosive Power. Seven movements. The functional strength that gives every technique its force.
  • Flexibility and Coordination. Thirteen movements. The methodical path to head-height kicks and deep stances.
  • Leg Techniques (腿功). Twenty movements. The full Shaolin kicking system, with correct mechanics throughout.
  • Stances, Strikes and Footwork (桩功). Twenty-five movements. The rooted structure that makes every form feel natural rather than forced.
  • Aerial Techniques and Throws. Twenty-six movements. The advanced work, approached only once the foundation is fully in place.

The lineage

Shifu Shi Yan Jin (释延金 · Sun Wei) holds the Shaolin Kung Fu 8th Duan and the Chinese Wushu 7th Duan, and is recognised as a Shaolin Kung Fu Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritor, a National First-Class Wushu Coach and a National-Level Wushu Judge. These credentials rest on something simpler and rarer: a childhood given to the temple, and a lifetime spent in the art. The one hundred movements in this course are the distillation of that life, chosen with care and ordered with intent.

For the serious practitioner

This is for those beginning Shaolin who want the foundation built correctly from the first day, and for experienced practitioners who have plateaued and recognise that the basics are what they were never properly taught. It is a complete system to study and return to for years, learned online at your own pace, anywhere in the world.

Lifetime access. A single enrolment. Studied on any device, wherever you train.
